Founded in 2024, the Tyne Energy Guild is a community-focused center for retrofitting education and sustainable design. Located within the historic Deep Dene House in Newcastle’s Jesmond Dene, the Guild bridges heritage and innovation, offering workshops, exhibitions, and community events. Our spaces, including research labs and a visitor-friendly café, serve local residents and global visitors alike, fostering a shared commitment to a greener future.

This project embodies the innovative and philanthropic spirit of Lord Armstrong, the creator of Jesmond Dene. Like Armstrong’s pioneering efforts in hydraulic power and renewable energy, the Tyne Energy Guild advances sustainability through retrofitting and education. The project mirrors Armstrong’s commitment to blending progress with environmental stewardship, emphasizing the preservation of heritage while fostering a greener future. By engaging the community in practical solutions, it continues his legacy of enriching society through innovation and shared purpose.
